Chiropractic is a registered and regulated health profession which focuses on the spine and other joints of the body and their connection to the nervous system. Chiropractors have extensive training in the diagnosis, management and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors focus on the detection and correction of abnormal spinal and joint function and its subsequent effect on how the nervous system functions.
Chiropractors provide patient-centred care and work in partnership with their patients and when required other health care professionals. They work with their patients to help improve functionality and educate them on how to account for their own health with exercise, ergonomics and other lifestyle changes.
